Adaptation of didactic materials of selected educational contents for the educational area Man and Nature for visually impaired pupils in basic education

The aim of this bachelor theses was to compile theoretical data about specifics of children and pupils with visual impairment and consequently relate it to the educational process of pupils with visual impairment in sciences at primary school. On the basis of that the partial aim was to creat adapted didactic material for teaching sciences, to use it in practice and to evaluate the results. The adapted didactic material was focused on subcellular and cellular biology and on mycology and was used during the lessons of biology in the sixth grade of primary school with inclusion of a girl with severe visual impairment.
Analysis of tactile books for children with severe visual impairment in the context of teaching the Czech language

The first part of the Thesis explores the specifics (developmental and educational) of a visually impaired pupil. The sense of touch is defined as being the major compensatory sense of visually impaired people. It also describes the principles and forms of the effective haptization and proposes suitable activities for the development of the touch perception. Through the basic tactile-graphics procedures, the text gets to its central theme, which is the tactile books (books with textures designed for the visually impaired). These books, as well as the possibilities of their borrowing or purchasing, are presented to a reader. Using the analysis and comparison of the available specialized materials, the Thesis summarizes the methodical procedures used for the creation of the tactile textbooks, which are suitable for the integrated visually impaired children in the lessons of the Czech Language. Relief of St. Christopher - haptic aid for the visually challenged people

Theoretical part of the thesis, regarding the purpose of practical output (haptic aid), deals in its first sections with special pedagogy ophthalmopedies and typhlography. The second section of the thesis theoretical part analyses the theme of St. Christopher, which appears in the form of wall painting in the monastery temple of the Sacrifice of the Virgin Mary in České Budějovice. In connection with the place of occurrence, the history of the monastery is outlined. Practical part of the thesis is intended for various solutions of creating a specific haptic aid for the blind. That one is used to "view the image" through a relief which thanks to its plastic properties provides a visual impression of a flat surface.
